Workshop 1 - 8/15/2017
The California Energy Systems for the 21st Century (CES-21) research and development program presented its final report on the Grid Integration Flexibility Metrics and Standard project. This project used the Strategic Energy Risk Valuation Model (SERVM) to assess the projected future reliability and operational flexibility of the CAISO balancing area. It was presented to the Modeling Advisory Group as a possible analytical tool for evaluating system portfolios under consideration in the IRP proceeding.
CES-21 is a collaborative research and development effort between Pacific Gas & Electric, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, and Lawrence Livermore National laboratory, and authorized by Commission Resolution E-4677.
