Simi Rose George
Legal and Policy Advisor
Simi has held a variety of roles at the California Public Utilities Commission since 2017, including Advisor to former Commissioner Cliff Rechtschaffen, interim advisor to Commissioner Karen Douglas, and Senior Analyst in the Policy and Planning Division. Before joining the CPUC, she worked on climate and energy issues at Environmental Defense Fund. Simi has experience in working on a range of energy policy areas including building and transportation electrification, gas system planning and regulation, solar adoption, and wholesale gas and electric market reform. Previously, as a corporate attorney at two international law firms in London, she worked on a range of cross-border investment projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Simi holds a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the National Law School of India University, and a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
